I have had the honour of working with people who have survived tremendous challenges, wounds, and losses. Pain and suffering are inevitable parts of life that can leave people feeling broken, exhausted, anguished, and disconnected from themselves, others, and their values. My aim is to alleviate pain where possible, encourage growth, and walk alongside someone as they learn to bear suffering in a way where they feel a sense of wholeness; to cultivate missing experiences such as safety, connection, self-appreciation, or nurture; and to support them with living authentically aligned with their values. I have personal, lived experience in some of the areas that I work with, and while I limit my own sharing and no two people have the same story, this often helps clients feel more understood in that aside from training alone, I might be able to grasp in a deeper sense what an experience might be like for them and what is involved in healing.

Get To Know Me Personally

  • I prioritize having a healthy sleep routine, spending time with loved ones, and asking for help when I need it.

  • I discovered therapy as a client as a young adult and experienced relief through meeting with a compassionate counsellor who listened to my story and helped me process my experiences. I wanted to pass on the gift that was given to me and began my journey of becoming a counsellor to be able to help others have transformative experiences through a safe, caring therapeutic relationship.

  • My determination. I grew up riding horses and we were always taught “if you fall off, you have to get back on again”. I am thankful for the determination and self-trust to follow my intuition, navigate hardships, and take on some big-to-me risks/endeavors in life and build the best life that I can for my kids.

  • An author. I still hope to do this at some point!

  • I’m spending time with my family as a wife, mom, and dog-mom. I enjoy reading fantasy fiction, being creative, practicing my Spanish, board games with friends, traveling, and going for a run or a hike.

  • A common misconception is that you need to hit "rock bottom" before you decide to seek counselling. There are numerous reasons why a person may choose to speak with a qualified professional; everything from taking preventative measures to addressing a full-blown crisis. Whether you're in a season of life where you're looking for insight, needing some guidance in making a shift or transition, wanting to change but not sure how, hurting badly and feeling hopeless, carrying a burden of past traumas and memories, or in a crisis and you've reached your limit - counselling can help.

  • Beyond helping people grow and heal, I love witnessing the various stages of my longer-term client’s lives unfold or if they come back after a period of time away and share all that has changed. It’s been an honour to see people through their university degrees, singlehood to settling down, becoming first time parents, changing careers, and following their dreams and everything in between! The therapeutic relationship is very unique in that way.

  • Warm, non-judgmental, knowledgeable, and they’ve told me that I have a very calming presence and good sense of humour.

  • To have courage isn’t the absence of fear. Courage is being able to bravely stand with oneself, while afraid, and face what’s ahead. I see this in each of my clients in their own way.
